About the  Writer

Ilhy was born in Mexico City, and currently resides somewhere in the United States. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, with a BA in Writing & Rhetoric and minors in Psychology and Creative Writing.

His articles and short stories have been published across various journals, including Syracuse University’s Intertext, and the intercollegiate arts & literary magazine Spires.

His research has been presented across various conferences such as the Pop Culture Association National Conference, the 2025 National Conference on Undergraduate Research, and the 2025 Spectrum Conference.

Ilhy’s blog, The Great Ponder, is dedicated to analyzing and praising all forms of creative media while educating rising and senior leaders on the importance of understanding pop culture. The Ponder for Leaders is a section dedicated to trailblazers interested in growing their understanding of pop culture and its effects on society.

As a freelance writer, Ilhy assists various leaders with all of their writing needs, including social media growth, book drafts, editing, grants, and newsletters.

Ilhy is also a pursuing an internship with Promena, a P&L Group as a publishing assistant.
